| Purple Lip Gloss?? |
|
Hi everyone! Recently I took a trip to Hot Topic, my favourite store of all time. For those of you that don't know, it's a store that features wacky clothing, vibrant cosmetics and out-there accessories unlike any other. When I went this time, of course, I bought so many things. Among those things I got some more lip gloss. Last time I went to Hot Topic, I purchased the same brand of lip gloss and was very satisfied. I'm always looking for bold-coloured lip gloss/lip stick, and this brand sold cotton candy pink which looked like Nicki Minaj's in her video, "Super Base". I loved it so much that when I went back this time I bought a purple tube of it in hopes that it would turn out to be a dark, vibrant and noticeable colour. I figured that since the last type of lip gloss I got was so good that this one would be the same. Little did I know how wrong I was. The gloss had a nice tint of purple, but it was hardly a bold colour. I wanted something that would make my lips look like they were actually purple! Yes, it was a nice colour, but it wasn't what I wanted.
My point is, why can't someone make vibrant lip products that are actually affordable? I've seen lip sticks that do the thing I want them too, but their price is too high. But of course, I still recommend Hot Topic to anyone, no matter what.
Still...anyone out there agree with me? |

| New glasses |
|
Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great St. Patrick’s Day. It gives everyone the opportunity to wear a big green, poofy skirt, or a huge green bow, not to mention all the green non-alcoholic drinks you can order!
Sorry, getting off topic. Recently, I started to dislike my glasses. They’re black, with big square frames and checker board on the sides. I didn’t like the way they looked on my face anymore, and I found them really boring. My taste two years ago was a lot different than it is now! Anyways, my Mom and I decided to look around our hometown a bit to find some new ones. I thought it was going to be easy. Last time, we had no trouble at all finding my old glasses.
For those of you who own glasses, you know that the statement I’d thought was very untrue. Glasses are accessories that you have to wear on your face all the time. They have to go with every one of your outfits, and they have to match your personality. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted. I wanted big glasses, like the ones Randy Jackson wears on American Idol. But after I tried them on, I realized they didn’t go with my face at all. They were too big. So I tried glasses with smaller frames, and they were too small.
I was so confused! If I don’t like glasses that are big, and I don’t like glasses that are small, then what am I supposed to like? Before I knew it, the tiredness began to kick in. I didn’t come close to really liking anything. There were few glasses that I liked, yes, but then I would put them back on and not like them anymore. Nevertheless, I did have fun. I tried on a bunch of goofy paired glasses just to be funny, and my Mom and I had good times. We always do whenever we go out! But finding glasses is hard work; you have to remember that you have to choose glasses you can wear anytime, and that will go with fancy and normal clothes.
In the end, I did find the perfect glasses for me. They were baby pink, with a cat eye look. The frames are the perfect size. And yes, maybe they won’t exactly go with fancy outfits, but they match my personality perfectly. And if you find some glasses that you like - go for it! Who cares if other people hate them? It’s what you like that matters.
Peace out! |

| Top Five Wonderful Ladies of 2011 |
|
Hi everyone! Happy New Year to all of you, I hope you had a great Christmas. To start the New Year off, I decided to give my top five best female celebrity role models of 2011. In order, (5 being worst, 1 being the best), here’s my list!
1. Lady Gaga: She is definitely my top role model of the year because of what she stands for. Some people may strongly disagree with this because they only see her as being a freak and for being inappropriate and suggestive, but you have to really listen to her speak to understand what she’s all about. She sticks up for what she believes in, is a huge bullying activist, inspires millions of “Little Monsters” (as she calls her fans) every day of all ages to be who they are and to be proud of it, does lots of charity work, and most of all, can sing like no other singer I've ever heard before!
2. Taylor Swift: Taylor Swift was bullied a lot in high school, and had a really hard time getting where she is today, but she never let it stop her from getting what she truly wanted: to sing for millions of people across the world. So many girls are inspired by Taylor because she has songs that we can relate to about bullying, relationships: everything a teenage girl goes through. She’s also extremely talented, which is someone a lot of girls should aspire to be.
3. Ellen Degenres: Ah, Ellen. We all know about her talk show that comes on almost every day, how she has on many celebrities to interview and how she’s probably one of the funniest people on television, but there are a lot of things about her that we don’t see. For example, she does a lot of charity work, and donates money to people/schools who aren’t as fortunate as she is. Ellen is also a huge bullying and vegan activist, and has accomplished a lot in her lifetime (been on many TV shows, has her own talk show, won many awards, etc.) She is an inspiration to a lot of girls to be who they are and to be kind to others who aren’t as fortunate as us.
4. Oprah Winfrey: When the topic of good role models comes up, Oprah Winfrey is always discussed, but does anyone really know why? Oprah is a huge role model to all of us girls because she’s smart, unpretentious, and caring of the people who aren’t as fortunate as she. She participates in so many charities and donates so much money to people who don’t have it that it’s virtually impossible to name them all. You can tell she’s very intelligent because of the way she speaks, and the way she interviews many people and celebrities. Oprah clearly makes number four on my list.
5. Kate Middleton: Kate is the wife of Prince William, making her the Duchess of Cambridge. Ever since she started dating William, she has been in the spotlight. I know she’s an extremely modest person, because she never lets all the fame go to her head and is always polite when encountered by fans and in interviews. She even participated in the “Children’s Wish Foundation”, when a little girl with cancer asked to meet a real princess; Kate was happy to accept the role. Lastly, being a royal, Kate is extremely well-mannered, which also shows in interviews and when speaking out to the public alongside her Prince Charming. The fashionable Kate obviously makes my list.
Girls, if you’re ever looking for someone to look up to, take a look and listen to these ladies. They are beautiful, intelligent, and most of all, extraordinarily kind. Thank you! |

| Christmas ! |
|
Ah, Christmas. The time of year when you sit with your family and watch holiday specials, get overstuffed with mashed potatoes and turkey during family dinner, and when you are faced with many decisions. For example, how are you going to decorate this year? Are you going to get a great big real tree, or a tiny, colourful fake tree? Are you going to go subtle with your Christmas lights, or will you go so insane that you’ll end up competing with your neighbours? Are your parents going to spend a ridiculous amount of money buying a big “Merry Christmas” sign [that flashes every second to go over your house, or are you just going to put a small wreath on your door? And, most importantly, are you going to be the last minute kind of person, who, on the night before Christmas, goes and puts [his or her] parka on in the dead of winter and goes on top of the roof to put up your Christmas lights since you forgot this year? Well, I’m here to give my opinion on the best holiday decorating ideas.
Fake tree or real tree: If you’re the kind of person who absolutely loves the smell of Christmas running through your house, and loves the experience of going out with your family to a huge tree place and pick out the perfect tree, then I’d suggest getting a real tree. It really helps set the true image of Christmas. Plus it’s always great to be able to pick out your favourite tree and watch everyone struggle to carry it out to the car, drive it home and carry it into the house. But if you’re the kind of person who loves big, flashy things, loves to be different from anyone else and who just wants to not deal with the stress of going outside in the winter looking for a tree, then I suggest getting a fake tree. I know what you’re thinking; fake trees can’t truly set the feel for Christmas. But, hey, if you want to pick out a pink Christmas tree and decorate it all the same to make it look like no other tree, then it’s the right tree for you. My recommendation? Personally, I love getting a real tree. There’s something about the pine smell that runs through the house with a real Christmas tree that I prefer, and I love the whole experience of picking out a tree. But it’s your Christmas; so whatever you want to do, do it!
Subtle lights or flashy lights: Subtle lights send a calm mood out to your neighbours. Usually they’re the pretty blue and white lights that go around your house - ones that everyone seems to like because they’re not too much, but they’re not too little. They look beautiful in the glistening snow, which is perfect for the winter. But let’s say you want the look where it looks as if someone threw up Christmas lights all over your house (like my house!). This look is my personal favourite, because it’s very vibrant and usually it involves having a bunch of different colours instead of just one or two. There’s lights hanging from the trees in your front lawn, on your roof, on your door...and they’re rainbow coloured! What could be better [than] that? Plus, usually if you have it this way, nobody on the street can even compare. But, the other look is a calmer, pretty look. So, in the end, I guess it’s all up to you!
I hope you enjoyed my Christmas post. I wish you all a Happy Holidays! |

| Bengal Cat |
|
Hi everyone! Recently, I visited the mall, which had this awesome pet store that, even if I wasn’t buying anything, I had to go inside. I love going around pet stores and looking at all of the cute kittens and puppies. Of course, my cat Joe will always be the best, but I can’t resist the cuteness of the little animals.
When I went in that day, I couldn’t help but notice this medium sized cat, with golden fur and all different types of patterns running down it (spots on one side, stripes on the other), with three times the size of an ordinary cat’s ears. But the thing that really caught my eye about this cat was its eyes. It had the most beautiful amber eyes that would sparkle like actual jewels. I was instantly intrigued by this strange cat. It looked like something you would see in a zoo or something you would see running through the Savannahs in Africa. I looked at the name of the cat at the side, and after seeing the name I decided to do a bit of research on this cat.
The Bengal Cat is a cat that is four generations down from leopards. Apparently, this cat loves to take walks on a leash and if you have a bath, it’ll actually go in the bath with you. I was shocked. This cat was AMAZING. Can you imagine someone walking down the street with this wild-looking cat on a leash? Would people come to me and ask me if they could pet it if I took it out for walks? I found this really cool, so I thought I would share it with you people. But, for the record, as cool as this cat is; nothing can compare to my cat. I’ll never have a cat like Joe; not even a Bengal Cat will be the same.
So I have one question for all of you animal lovers out there – what makes your pet unique? Thanks for reading! |
